Paul McMahon of McMahon Legal, solicitors has taken a special interest in Brexit. He has practised as a Republic of Ireland solicitor for over 25 years and formerly practised as an England and Wales solicitor in Ireland for over 12 years.
Paul has written Irish Legal Guide (legalguide.ie) which is a comprehensive guide to the areas of law relevant to doing business in Ireland. He has also written UK law (an Irish Overview) (uklegal.ie), a guide for doing business in the UK and Brexit Legal (An Irish Guide) (brexitlegal.ie) a detailed guide to Brexit and the Law.
Paul’s presentation will give an overview of the current state of play with Brexit. It will look at the current position under the so-called withdrawal agreement and the and the possible arrangements in relation to a future trade agreement between the UK and the EU.
Paul will also look at the barriers to trade which might arise in a “hard” Brexit scenario in March 2019 and under a likely trade agreement that may be negotiated to take effect at the end of 2020 or at a later date.”
